According to the CBDT, there was a demand by taxpayers across the country that the last date of ITR and tax audit report should be extended from 30 September to 31 October.

If you are a taxpayer then this could be an important news for you. The last date for filing ITR (ITR) along with audit report is 31 October 2019. Earlier this deadline was 30 September, while now the Income Tax Department has extended the date as many taxpayers had delayed their ITR audit reports. According to the CBDT, there was a demand by taxpayers across the country that the last date of ITR and tax audit report should be extended from 30 September to 31 October.

Audit report with ITR

These ITRs have to be filled by the companies which are covered under Section 44AB of the IT Act. These include companies, partnership and proprietorship firms. Their account gets audited and then the CA or the auditor sends their ITR report to the IT department.

According to CBDT, these taxpayers also include individuals who are working partners in a firm or doing business along with their jobs.

Who is CBDT

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) is board of the Government of India that prepares guidelines for the IT department. The last date for filling ITR for salary class was 31 August 2019. The date for filling ITR is only extended for companies.
