As many as 13 students from Surat are among the 50 top rankers in the country in professional competence examination or the second level of examination for Chartered Accountants held in November, 2008.
Results were declared on Thursday on the official website of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). All these students will now appear for the final level to become chartered accountants.
Samiksha Adukia, a third year BCom student, bagged second rank in the country by securing 454 marks out of total of 600. Other toppers include Nidhi Sharma (436), Gunajan Narang (429), Prima Javeri (425), Saurabh More (420), Deepak Kabra (419), Tarun Agarwala (417), Pratik Shah (415), Divya Choudhary (415), Nisha Goyal (408), Prithvi Kapadia (407), Megha Suratwala (406), Shezin Siganporai (403) and Vrudhhi Shah (399).
Earlier this month, out of 194 students who appeared for both groups of examination of chartered accountants from Surat centre, 80 were declared passed, registering a pass percentage of 42 per cent. In the country, among 50 top rankers based on the total marks secured, six were from Surat centre alone.
Bhavesh Gupta with 553 out of 800 marks had stood eighth in all India, while Rajesh Malu with 519 marks got 22nd rank.
