In its first official stand on the infamous Satyam fraud, accounting firm Pricewaterhouse on Thursday defended itself, saying it conducted the audits "in accordance with applicable auditing standards."
"Pricewaterhouse are the statutory auditors of Satyam. The audits were conducted by Pricewaterhouse in accordance with applicable auditing standards and were supported by appropriate audit evidence," the firm said in a statement here.
However, it refused to share any further details on the matter.
