ANNOUNCEMENT OF INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON GST ARCHITECTURE IN FEDERAL SYSTEM ON 16TH JANUARY, 2009 AT NEW DELHI
( With special reference to proposed introduction of GST in India)
Dear Colleague,
As you are kindly aware that the Indirect Taxes Committee is organizing seminars, training courses in the areas of indirect taxes for the benefits of our members and other professionals. We are happy to inform you that the Indirect Taxes Committee is organizing an International Seminar on GST Architecture in Federal System on 16th January, 2009 at Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi.
In this regard, the Government of India has announced its intention to introduce GST system from 2010 and the Empowered Committee of State Finance Ministers also constituted a Group to study this aspect and suggest a model for the India. The Indirect Taxes Committee had issued a Concept Paper on the subject. This International Seminars aims to bring together experts from countries which have implemented GST in federal system to share their experience and discuss related matters with eminent faculties in Indian context.
To generate thoughts and ideas of the Government relating to implementation of GST Model in India, the Indirect Taxes Committee also invited dignitaries from Ministry of Finance, States Finance Ministers and State Finance Secretaries for attending this mega event.
