ICAI wants to question Satyam accused, After CBI

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has sought a local courts permission to record statements of former chief financial officer at Satyam Computer Services, Srinivas Vadlamani, and auditors of Price Waterhouse S Gopalakrishnan and Srinivas Talluri.

The three are accused, along with B Ramalinga Raju, the founder of the software firm, and his brother Rama Raju, in the Rs 7,000-crore scam. The case is posted for hearing on March 23. The court will also hear a petition filed by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) on March 23. The SFIO has sought court permission to record statements of all the five accused in the Satyam fraud.

The local court also heard the investigating agency CBIs plea to further interrogate Raju, Rama Raju, and Srinivas Vadlamani for two days. Orders are expected on Thursday. The bail petitions of the five accused will be heard on March 28.
