CBDT Press Release - Opening of Income Tax offices on 29th, 30th and 31st March 2014.

                                  PRESS RELEASE

                                                                27th March, 2014


      In order to facilitate the taxpayers to file their income tax returns
before the close of the financial year 2013-14, the field Income Tax offices
throughout India shall remain open on Saturday and Sunday on 29th March and
30th March, 2014. The offices shall also remain open on 31st March 2014 at all
stations having public holiday on account of Gudi Padava, Ugadi etc. The Central
Board of Direct Taxes has issued this direction in exercise of powers conferred
under section 119 of the Income Tax Act, 1961.






       In order to facilitate filing of returns of income and other related work of
taxpayers, the field offices have been asked to make special arrangements,
including opening of additional receipt counters wherever required on 29th, 30th
and 31st March 2014.

        Taxpayers are advised to avail the facility of these special arrangements
and file their returns of income after paying due taxes.
