Reaching examination centre during a hot summer afternoon will become less painful for chartered accountancy (CA) students. For, they will be offered wet refreshing tissues during exam. Also, the students will get additional 15 minutes' time before exam to read question paper, which will help them reduce the anxiety.
Examination for various CA courses like professional competence examination (PCE), integrated professional competence course (IPCC) and final exams will commence from May 2 to 16 in five centres of the city.
Examinations will be conducted at T&TV Sarvajanik School, Jeevan Bharti Pravrutti Vidyalaya, K P College of Commerce, Maheshwari Vidyapeeth and P R Khatiwala Vidhya Sankool. Due to vacations in schools and colleges, the campuses are made available for 15-day long schedule of CA examinations.
Around 4,377 students will appear in the four different exams. For IPCC, 1,823 students are registered, for PCE 496, for final I 962 and for final II 1096. IPCC and PCE examinations will start from May 3 to 15. CA finals will begin from May 2 and continue till May 16. Treasurer of Surat branch Western India Regional Council (WIRC) Dharmesh Tamakuwala is appointed as the chief coordinator for examinations.
The exam will start from 1.45 pm and end at 5 pm. It includes 15 minutes for reading the question paper. Vice-chairman of Surat branch (WIRC) Harekrushna Bhutwala said, "Students will be provided with refreshing tissue and water. This is an attempt to refresh students from the scorching heat. Students can get the tissues from block supervisor."
Bhutwala added, "For the first time, students will be given 15 minutes extra to read question paper in the beginning to reduce anxiety. Apart from the addition of reading time, pattern of examination will remain same as last year. Coordinators appointed by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will be present in the centres."
Nikhil Jajodia, appearing for IPCC said, "I am a bit tense about the examination, but 15 minutes reading time will help me read the question paper properly and chalk out the strategy to answer the questions."
Meanwhile, Surat branch of ICAI has also organized a mock test for students appearing for forthcoming common proficiency test (CPT) on June 5.
