The National President of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) Uttamprakash Agarwal appealed that, chartered accountants should increasingly make use of Information Technology to bring order in their working.
Agarwal was speaking after inaugurating a two-day national conference on "Information Technology," organised by ICAIs Pimpri-Chinchwad branch at Hotel Orchid in Balewadi on Sunday.
Efforts are being made to create opportunities for CAs through ICAI, across the country. None of the CAs is found guilty in the investigations so far in the latest Satyam scam. More and more use of IT by the CAs is required for a paperless work. Many companies and businessmen maintain their accounts on computer. So, getting familiar with IT is the need of the hour, he added.
More than 500 CAs from 12 states have participated in this national conference. Guidance is being given on various subjects like international accounting and auditing standards, opportunities in the field of skills required for computer accounting audit, precautions for audit.
