The 2009 audit report has blamed a few members of dargah committee in Ajmer of allegedly misusing donors' fund. The committee comprising nine members, including the president appointed by the Union ministry of minority affairs, administer the 12th century shrine of Khawaja Moinuddhin Chishti as per the Dargah Khwaja Saheb Act, 1955.
The audit report objected to the amount of Rs 59,000 collected by a member of dargah committee, Vakeel Ahmed towards air tickets without submitting the used air tickets and boarding passes. However, the committee had allegedly ignored the audit objection. Ahmed, meanwhile, has denied the allegation.
The bylaws 10 (5) says that committee meetings should be held in Ajmer unless there is some urgency. On the contrary, two meetings were held in Kolkata on October 31, 2010 and in Delhi on February 16, 2011.
