Indian equities were trading higher Monday tracking gains across Asian markets. Leading the upmove were metal stocks, followed by realty and IT. All these three BSE sector indices were up over 1 per cent.
At 9:07 am, Nifty was higher by 42.25 points or 0.77 per cent at 5521.65. The National Stock Exchange benchmark opened the week at 5479.55 against Fridays close of 5479.40. The 50-share index saw a high of 5522.30 versus a low of 5479.55.
Sensex was at 18,363.44, up 142.01 points or 0.78 per cent. The Bombay Stock Exchange sensitive index opened at 18,124.29 versus the previous close of 18,221.43. The 30-share index moved between 18,363.56 and 18,124.29 in the early minutes.
