Seminar organised by ICAI on internal control structure in global organisations
November, 22nd 2010

Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Doha Chapter, is organising a seminar on Internal control structure in global organisations at the Holiday Villa on November 23.

Sponsored by Teyseer Group, the seminar will be addressed by Mark Beery, RasGas project accounting manager.
Seconded from ExxonMobil, Beery joined RasGas in 2009 and has more than 25 years experience in the hydrocarbon upstream

joint venture projects in the United States, Venezuela, and Equatorial Guinea.

Beery holds an accounting degree from Kansas State University and is a long-standing US Certified Public Accountant.
ICAI Doha Chapter chairman Girish Jain said, Internal control structure is a topical issue following global financial reporting and accounting scandals in both developed and developing countries..

A proactive preventive approach to the problem requires a critical evaluation of existing internal control structures in organisations to determine their capacity and ensure the activities are carried out in accordance with established goals, policies and procedures. The topic is specifically relevant to the current times when Qatar continues to pursue a high growth path while the developed world is struggling to return to positive growth trajectory, he added.
