The Income-Tax Department has asked tax-payers to pay their taxes by March 23 to avoid inconvenience on account of disruption in services due to the proposed bank strike in the last week of the month.
"Payments made later may not receive credit by the end of this month and this may lead to avoidable problems in tax credit and statutory consequences following there from," the I-T Department said on Tuesday.
The banks are likely to remain close in the last week of the month on account of Ramnavmi on March 27 and three-day strike (March 28 to 30) of the public sector banks.
