VAT hike condemned by INLD in Haryana

INLD today condemned the Haryana government's move to increase VAT on essential commodities and demanded immediate roll back of the decision. "These essential commodities (food grains, oil, etc) are daily needs of common men and hike in VAT will increase their prices," INLD general secretary Ajay Singh Chautala said in a press release here. The state government has increased VAT to five per cent from four per cent on essential commodities.
