Under the Apna Tax Scheme, customers are asked to send the copy of the bills through their smart phones so that they could be checked with those of dealers.
Giving information here on Wednesday, Sanjeev Chaudhary, deputy exise and taxation commissioner (sales tax), Panchkula, said under this scheme, people could forward an image of any invoice to the department using ‘WhatsApp’. The mobile nu mber of the department for this service is 9501022222.
Chaudhary requested the people to demand an invoice every time they make a purchase in Haryana. He requested the people to make images of all invoices issued to them while making purchases; and forward it to the department of excise and taxation, Haryana, through ‘WhatsApp’.
He said it would help the department in reconciliation of accounts of the sellers for ensuring that the contribution made by them by paying taxes on the purchases was credited into the gover nment treasury. For the storage and usage of this, bill infor mation system software has been prepared by the department.
